A: Who’s the singer you like best? (Siapa penyanyi yang paling kau sukai?)

B: For now, Ed Sheeran is my favorite. (Untuk saat ini, Ed Sheeran adalah favoritku)

A: My sister loves him, too. He’s got a lot of cool songs. (Kakak perempuanku sangat suka pula padanya. Dia punya banyak lagu keren)

Dialogue II

A: How often do you listen to music? (Seberapa sering kau mendengarkan musik?)

B: I spend a lot of my time listening to various kinds of music. (Aku menghabiskan banyak waktu mendengarkan beragam jenis musik)

A: What kind of music do you like best? (Jenis musik apa yang paing kau sukai?)

B: I enjoy listening to jazz and country music the most. (Aku paling suka mendengarkan musik jazz dan country)

A: What about the type of music you dislike?

B: I guess I’m just not really into rock music. (Kurasa aku tidak begitu suka musik rock)

A: And why is that? (Kenapa begitu?)

B: I’m not sure, I think I prefer listening to relaxing music.

A: I love rock songs. They make me feel more energized. (Aku suka lagu-lagu rock. Mereka membuatku merasa lebih bertenaga)

B: Well, last time I saw a rock band live, I got dizzy. (Terakhir aku nonton band rock secara langsung, aku jadi pening)

Dialogue III

A: I heard you come from Indonesia. What kind of music is popular in your country right now?

B: I don’t really know what people there are into these days, but most of my friends are in love with indie artists that have the elements of country, R&B, and folk music as the genre at the moment. Also, it seems like the teenagers are mostly into K-pop. Actually, we have our own traditional music called ‘dangdut’ but it’s not the most popular genre in my country.

A: I did listen to dangdut music, I think it sounds a little bit like Spanish songs. (Aku pernah mendengarkan musik dangdut, menurutku terdengar agak seperti lagu-lagu Spanyol)

B: I never listen to Spanish songs, so I don’t know. (Aku belum pernah mendengar lagu Spanyol, jadi aku tidak tahu)

A: How do you feel about your country’s traditional music? (Bagaimana pendapatmu tentang musik tradisional negaramu?)

B: I can’t say I’m totally proud of it because, first, a lot of dangdut songs have terrible lyrics that sound not pretty at all to me; and second, dangdut shows mostly have bad image. But I’m not saying it’s awful, though.

A: I see. (Aku mengerti)

Dialogue IV

A: Do you like singing? (Apakah kau suka menyanyi?)

B: Not really, but I listen to music a lot. (Tidak juga, tapi aku senang mendengarkan musik)

A: What kind of music do you like the most? (Jenis musik apa yang paling kau sukai?)

B: Some people think it’s weird but I really like classical music, like, the ones you hear in old movies for instance. (Beberapa orang merasa agak aneh, tapi aku sangat suka musik klasik seperti yang kau dengar di film-film lawas contohnya)

A: Why is that? (Mengapa demikian?)

B: I just find it cool, that’s all. What about you? (Menurutku keren saja. Bagaimana denganmu?)

A: I don’t understand music much, but I like acoustic songs. Can you play any instruments?

B: I know how to play a violin but I’m not really good at it. (Aku tahu cara memainkan biola, tapi aku tidak begitu jago)
