Contoh percakapan 1

Amy: Hi, Jack. I didn’t expect I would meet you here. It’s so unusual you are at the laundromat. (Hai, Jack.

Jack: Hey, Amy. My washing machine is broken, so I had no choice except to come here to wash my laundry. (Hei, Amy.

Amy: Ah. That makes sense. (Ah. Itu masuk akal)

Jack: Anyway, do you come here often? (Omong-omong, apakah kamu sering ke sini?)

Amy: I do since I don’t have a washing machine. (Ya karena aku tidak punya mesin cuci)

Jack: Why don’t you buy one? (Mengapa kamu tidak membeli saja?)

Amy: Washing clothes here is more convenient and cheaper. Besides, I don’t do laundry that often.

Jack: Is that so? (Begitu?)

Amy: Yep. They basically have everything here, washing machine, clothes dryer, detergent, softener. You name it, they have it. They even have vending machines selling snacks and coffee. (Ya.

Jack: Oh, I didn’t know that. No wonder you prefer washing your clothes here instead of at home. Anyway, where’s the coffee vending machine. I guess I need some coffee while waiting for this machine to do my clothes. Aku rasa aku butuh kopi sambil menunggu pakaianku bersih)

Amy: It’s right over there. Do you see it? The brown one. (Ada di sana. Apa kamu bisa melihatnya? Yang warna cokelat)

Jack: Oh yeah. I see it. Do you perhaps have extra coin? I’m run out of it. (Oh ya. Aku melihatnya. Apa kamu punya koin ekstra? Aku kehabisan koin?)

Amy: Sorry, I don’t. But you can change your money to coin using that machine.

Jack: Oh wow, I thought that was an ATM since It kind of looks like one.

Amy: I thought so too when the first time I came here.

Jack: Glad I’m not the only one who thought that. Anyway, I’m buying a cup coffee now. Do you want some? (Senang bukan aku saja yang mengira demikian. Omong-omong, aku akan beli secangkir kopi sekarang. Kamu mau?)

Amy: No, thank. (Tidak, terima kasih)

Contoh percakapan 2

A: Good morning. May I help you? (Selamat pagi. Ada yang bisa saya bantu?)

B: I’d like to get my laundry done, please. How much does it cost? (Saya ingin mencuci pakaian kotor di sini. Berapa harganya?)

A: Would you like regular or express service? (Apa Anda ingin layanan biasa atau cepat?)

B: What’s the difference between them? (Apa bedanya?)

A: Regular service cost Rp10.000 per kilo and it takes three days, while the express one cost Rp15.000 per kilo and your laundry will be done in a day only.

B: I’ll take the regular one, then. Here’s the laundry. (Saya ambil layanan biasa saja kalau begitu. Ini cuciannya)

A: Very well. Let me weight it first. (Baik. Biar saya timbang dulu)

B: Okay. (Oke)

A: It’s two kilos. Would you like us to deliver the laundry to your house when it’s done? (Beratnya dua kilo. Apakah Anda ingin pakaian Anda diantar ke rumah Anda ketika selesai dicuci?)

B: Is there any delivery fee? (Apakah Anda biaya antar?)

A: Yes, it is. Rp10.000. (Ya. Biayanya Rp10.000)

B: I won’t take it. Thanks. (Saya tidak ingin. Terima kasih)

A: All right. The total would be Rp20.000. (Baik. Totalnya menjadi Rp20.000)

B: Here’s the money. (Ini uangnya)

A: Thanks. Here’s the receipt and the change. (Terima kasih. Ini tanda terima dan kembaliannya)

B: Thanks. (Terima kasih)
