Dialog bahasa Inggris dengan tema izin tidak masuk kerja karena sakit

Berikut ini adalah contoh percakapan 2 (dua) orang yang bisa kita pelajari ketika sedang sakit dan perlu izin tidak masuk kerja. Dialog terjadi di antara dua rekan kerja lewat telepon dan juga secara langsung.

Dialog I

A: Good morning, is this Jonatan? (Selamat pagi, apakah ini Jonatan?)

B: This is Jonatan you’re speaking with. How can I help you? (Benar ini Jonatan yang sedang berbicara. Ada yang bisa saya bantu?)

A: Hi, Joe, it’s Anthony. I’m sorry I can’t make it today. I’m experiencing a terrible migraine attack at the moment, I can hardly move. (Hai, Joe, ini Anthony. Saya minta maaf tidak bisa datang hari ini. Saya sedang mengalami serangan migrain parah saat ini, saya susah bergerak)

B: I’m sorry to hear that. How have you been treating it? (Saya turut prihatin mendengarnya. Bagaimana kau mengatasinya?)

A: My roommate is taking care of me. He’s the one that suggested that I called while he’s preparing my breakfast. (Teman kamar yang merawat saya. Ia yang menyarankan saya untuk menelepon selagi ia mempersiapkan sarapan)

B: Alright, then. I’ll inform Mr. Swanson about that. Hope you recover soon. (Baiklah kalau begitu. Akan saya kabari Mr. Swanson. Semoga kau segera sembuh)

A: Thank you so much, Joe. (Terima kasih banyak, Joe)

Dialog II

A: Hello, it’s Leslie speaking. (Halo, ini Leslie yang sedang berbicara)

B: Hi Leslie, this is Maya, I need to call in sick for work today. (Hai Leslie, ini Maya, saya harus izin sakit untuk tidak bekerja hari ini)

A: What is wrong with you? (Ada apa denganmu?)

B: It’s some stomach problems. It hurts so bad and I can’t stop vomiting. (Ada masalah perut. Terasa sakit sekali dan saya tidak berhenti muntah)

A: I’m very sorry to hear that. How long have you had it? (Saya amat prihatin mendengarnya. Sudah berapa lama kau mengalaminya?)

B: It’s been three days, and my sister is taking me to the doctor. (Sudah tiga hari, dan kakakku akan membawaku ke dokter)

A: You sure have to do a checkup soon. I will leave a message with the manager. (Kamu harus segera periksa. Saya akan berikan pesan kepada sang manajer)

B: Yes, thank you. (Ya, terima kasih)

A: You’re welcome. Get well soon. (Sama-sama. Semoga cepat sembuh)

Dialog III

A: Mia’s speaking, what can I do for you? (Mia sedang berbicara, apa yang bisa saya bantu?)

B: Hi, it’s Jessie. I’m sorry I can’t make it into work today. I’m not feeling well. (Hai, ini Jessie. Maaf saya tidak bisa datang kerja hari ini. Saya sedang tidak enak badan)

A: What happened? (Ada apa?)

B: I have a terrible cough and a fever. I’ve also been catching a cold since yesterday, I keep sneezing. I don’t think I can serve the guests in such conditions. (Saya batuk dan demam parah. Saya juga sudah masuk angin sejak kemarin, saya terus-terusan bersin. Saya tidak yakin bisa melayani para tamu dalam kondisi begini)

A: I’ll get someone to cover for you. What time does your shift begin? (Akan saya cari orang untuk menggantikanmu. Jam berapa shiftmu dimulai?)

B: It will begin at 12. (Mulai jam12)

A: Okay, then. You’d better take a medication and have some rest so we’ll see you again tomorrow. (Baiklah. Kau harus minum obat dan beristirahat agar kami bisa melihatmu besok)

B: I will, and thank you so much, Ma’am. (Ya, terima kasih banyak, Bu)

Dialog IV

A: Hi, Kevin. This is Christian. I sprained my ankle last night, and I don’t think I can make it to the office since it hurts really bad to walk.  (Hai, Kevin. Ini Christian. Pergelangan kaki saya keseleo semalam, dan saya tidak yakin bisa datang ke kantor sebab terasa sangat sakit untuk berjalan)

B: I’m sorry to hear that. You’d better stay home and call a doctor. Don’t worry, we can handle everything here. (Saya turut prihatin mendengarnya. Anda seharusnya menetap di rumah dan menelepon dokter. Jangan khawatir, kami dapat mengatasi semuanya di sini)

A: Thanks. You can call me anytime in case something happens. (Terima kasih. Kau bisa menghubungiku kapanpun barangkali ada apa-apa)

B: Sure. I’ll see you when you get better. (Ya. Sampai jumpa ketika Anda sembuh)

 Dialog V

A: Hey, Sandra, I was wondering if it’s okay for me to leave a bit early today. (Hei Sandra, saya bertanya-tanya apakah tidak apa jika saya pulang lebih awal hari ini)

B: What’s the matter? (Ada apa?)

A: I’m having a headache and unable to be productive. I’m feeling worse each minute. (Saya sedang sakit kepala dan tidak bisa produktif. Saya merasa makin parah tiap menit)

B: You need to get some rest, then. What time are you leaving? (Kalau begitu kau perlu istirahat. Jam berapa kau pergi?)

A: Probably in 15 minutes. I’ll just wrap up and wait for my Uber to come. (Kemungkinan dalam 15 menit. Saya akan berkemas dan menunggu Uber saya datang)

B: Okay. Just give me a call if you still need more rest by tomorrow. (Baik. Telepon saya jika kau masih butuh istirahat besok)
