Berikut ini contoh dialog bahasa Inggris antara resepsionis hotel dengan tamu hotel atau seseorang yang akan reservasi atau memesan kamar untuk menginap selama beberapa hari:

Resepsionis: Good evening. Welcome to Saudara Hotel. (Selamat malam. Selamat datang di Hotel Saudara.)

Anisa: Good evening. I would like to check-in. (Selamat malam. Saya ingin check-in.)

Resepsionis: Have you made any reservation, Miss? (Apakah sudah membuat pemesanan, Nona?)

Anisa: Not yet. (Belum.)

Resepsionis: What kind of room would you like? We have deluxe, executive, suites, and president. (Anda ingin ruangan apa? Deluxe, eksekutif, suites, dan presiden.)

Anisa: What are the facilities? (Apa saja fasilitasnya?)

Resepsionis: All rooms get free breakfast, television set, free charge of gym, and swimming pool. Deluxe has a single bed, executive has double bed, suites has double bed and connecting door, president has living room.

Anisa: Well, I prefer the executive. (Baik, saya pilih kamar eksekutif.)

Resepsionis: We have executive room on the second up to fourth floor. Which one do you want? (Kamar eksekutif ada di lantai 2 sampai lantai 4. Anda ingin di lantai berapa?)

Anisa: The second floor is better. (Saya lebih suka di lantai dua.)

Resepsionis: How long would you like to stay? (Berapa lama Anda akan tinggal?)

Anisa: About three days. (Sekitar tiga hari.)

Resepsionis: May I borrow your ID, Miss? And would you fill in the form, please? (Bolehkah saya pinjam KTP Anda, Nona? Lalu, silakan melengkapi formulir ini.)

Anisa: Absolutely. (Tentu.)

After filling in the form. (Setelah mengisi formulir.)

Resepsionis: Ok, Miss. You would like to stay for three days, right? (Baik, Nona. Anda akan tinggal selama tiga hari, bukan?)

Anisa: Yes. (Ya.)

Resepsionis: The room rate is Rp 1.000.000 (one million rupiahs) for the executive room. So, would you like to pay in cash or credit card? (Harga kamar eksekutifnya Rp 1.000.000. Jadi, Anda ingin membayar tunai atau dengan kartu kredit?)

Anisa: I pay cash. Here it is. (Saya bayar tunai. Ini dia.)

Resepsionis: Ok, this is your receipt. Our guest officer will take you to your room. The room number is two hundred. Have a nice time! (Ok, ini kuitansinya. Petugas kami akan mengantar Anda ke kamar. Nomor kamarnya 200. Selamat bersenang-senang!)

Anisa: Thank you. (Terima kasih.)

Latihan soal conversations

Man: Where should we take a vacation to this year? Let’s decide soon.
Woman: Well, I’d like to go somewhere warm. How about the beach or we could rent a cabin by the lake.
Man: I think going to the lake must be better.
Woman: Ok dear.
What have they decided?
Man: Why you so sad?
Woman: My pet is lost, she has been missing for a whole day.
Man: You mean your kitty.
Woman: Yes.
What makes the woman sad?
Woman: What do you think of my appearance. Do I look okay?
Man: Well, yes but it will be more elegant if you wear a long black dress.
Woman: Alright.
What is the dialogue about?
Man: Oh my god, this traffic is making me crazy.
Woman: Absolutely! I think there must be an accident.
Man: I think so too. It’s almost seven o’clock. We’ll be late for school.
Woman: We’d better tell our teacher that we’re coming late, because of the traffic. We hope and pray that traffic will be fine soon and we will not miss the first lesson.
Man: Okay, let’s call her.
What is the best solution they have?
Man: Hi Ira, congratulations on your promotion. It’s nice to know that you’ll be the new branch manager of this Bank. When are you going to Samarinda?
