Pada tulisan saya sebelumnya saya sudah membahas mengenai future perfect tense. Pada kesempatan kali ini saya akan membahas future continuous tense. Apa yang dimaksud dengan bentuk keterangan waktu future continuous tense dan bagaimana contoh penggunaannya dalam kalimat positif, negatif dan tanya?

Fungsi future continuous tense

Future continuous tense biasa digunakan untuk menunjukan atau mengekspresikan suatu kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung di masa depan atau menyatakan suatu perbuatan atau suatu peristiwa yang akan sedang dilakukan atau akan sedang terjadi di waktu yang akan datang.

Contoh kalimatnya:

• At 4 p.m. tomorrow, Andy will be playing basketball with his friends. (Besok pukul 4 sore, Andy pasti sedang bermain bola basket dengan teman-temannya.)

Perhatikan rumus atau pola kalimat future continuous tense berikut ini beserta contoh kalimatnya:

Kalimat future continuous tense positif

S + Will/ shall, be going to + be + V (verb-ing) + M

Contoh:

• The big match will be starting at midnight
• Mina is going to be showing off her performance tonight
• Luna shall be looking beautiful

Kalimat future continuous tense negatif

S + Will/ shall + not + be + V (verb-ing) + M

Contoh:

• The big match will not be starting at midnight
• Mina shall not be showing off her performance tonight
• Luna shall not be looking beautiful

S + to be + not + going to + be + V (verb-ing) + M

Contoh:

• The big match is not going to be starting at midnight
• I am not going to be showing off her performance tonight
• They are not going to be looking beautiful

Kalimat future continuous tense tanya

Will/ shall + S + be + V (verb-ing) + M

Contoh:

• Will the big match be starting at midnight?
• Shall Mina be showing off her performance tonight?
• Shall Luna be looking Beautiful?

to be + S + going to + be + V (verb-ing) + M

Contoh:

• Is the big match going to be starting at midnight?
• Am I going to be showing off her performance tonight?
• Are They going to be looking beautiful?

Contoh kalimat future continuous tense

Dengan menggunakan rumus kalimat di atas kita bisa membuat contoh kalimat future continuous tense lainnya:

Kalimat positif:

• I will be trying my best to understand you more.
• You will be eating my sandwich tonight.
• Maira and I will be supposing to know more about the case
• She is going to be opening her old photograph, she will feel so sad
• My sweety will be breaking my antic glasses
• My teacher will be being a designer
• You will be being here when I need you most
