Apa pengertian uncountable noun dan bagaimana contohnya?
Uncountable noun (non-count noun), atau kata benda yang tak dapat dihitung, adalah jenis kata benda yang tidak mempunyai bentuk jamak; dengan kata lain selalu dikategorikan singular.
Contoh:
Air, ash, asphalt, brass, bread, butter, cement, chalk, cheese, chicken, chocolate, cloth, coffee, flour, food, fruit, furniture, gas, honey, ink, jewel, kerosene, knowledge, lemonade, largarine), meat, medicine, milk, money, oil, paint, paper, pepper, petrol, pork, powder, rice, salt, dll.
Jika dijadikan bentuk jamak (plural), maka yang dijadikan bentuk jamak ialah ukurannya atau takarannya (quantifier-nya).

Kata-kata berikut selalu dianggap plural:
Scissors, glasses, trousers, pants, jeans, pliers, tweezers, :rew, committee, staff, family, press, team, audience, class (para siswa), faculty, kata benda yang menunjukkan kebangsaan yang berakhiran dengan -ese, -ch, -sh: Chinese, French, English.
Kata-kata berikut selalu dianggap singular:
Air, economics, food, homework, information, meat, neasles, mumps, mathematics, money, news, physics, politics, sand, soap.
