Berikut ini contoh dialog bahasa Inggris sehari-hari melalui telepon dalam berbagai situasi:

Percakapan 1:

Dewi: Hello, Dewi speaking.  (Halo, dengan Dewi.)

Nina: Hello, I would to talk to Andi. (Halo, saya ingin berbicara dengan Andi.)

Dewi: Who is calling? (Siapa yang menelepon.)

Nina: This is Nina speaking. (Dengan Nina.)

Dewi: Please hold a moment. I will check whether he is in his room. (Silakan ditunggu sebentar. Saya akan melihat apakah dia ada di ruangannya.)

After checking Andi's room, Dewi doesn't find anyone else. (Setelah melihat ruangan Andi, Dewi tidak menemukan siapa pun.)

Margaret: Good afternoon. I would like to speak to Mr. Budi. (Selamat siang. Saya ingin berbicara dengan Pak Budi.)

Lusi: Who shall I say is calling? (Siapa yang menelepon?)

Lusi: Good afternoon, Mr. Budi. There is Miss Margaret of Business Association on the line. (Selamat siang, Pak Budi. Ibu Margaret dari asosiasi bisnis menelepon.)

Mr. Budi: Ok, put her on through. (Baiklah, hubungkan dia dengan saya.)

Lusi: Yes, I'm putting you through now. (Ya, saya hubungkan Anda dengannya sekarang.)

Mr. Budi: Thank you. (Terima kasih.)

Jono: Hello (Halo.)

Caller: Hello, may I talk to Joni? (Halo, bisakah saya berbicara dengan Joni?)

Jono: I'm sorry but there is no Joni here. Or maybe do you mean Jono? (Maaf, tapi tidak ada yang bernama Joni di sini. Atau mungkin, apakah maksud Anda Jono?)

Caller: No, not Jono. I'm looking for Joni. (Bukan, bukan Jono. Saya mencari Joni.)

Jono: I guess you have the wrong number. (Sepertinya Anda salah sambung.)

Caller: Oh, I'm very sorry for this inconvenience. (Oh, saya sungguh meminta maaf atas ketidaknyamanan ini.)
